This is my first time in New York, the city of my birth, in four years. Post-Covid (sort of) it is still a little frightening because it is always one crowd after the other. Pre-Covid I was not even aware of the crowds because I grew up among them and they didn’t matter. Now they have been converted to carriers of bugs. But I had to go back and see friends and family and, as I have now discovered, a city that I still hold dear even after more than 50 years.
